Casting: Matt Damon and Josh Brolin

Matt Damon and Josh Brolin are discussing the possibility for participation in the western “True Grit” by Joel and Ethan Coen. It is a film adaptation of the same name novel by Charles Portis. The book has already been filmed in 1969. However, brothers Coen in their movie version are more oriented to a literary source, so that means the new “True Grit” could be called as a remake only with a great stretch. Jeff Bridges will play a one-eyed servant of the law Rooster Cogburn, who agrees to help 14-year-old girl to find and punish the murderer of her father. Damon claims the role of La Boeuf, a Texas Ranger, who also has joined in search of the murderer. To Brolin was proposed a role of the murderer. Scott Rudin, Steven Spielberg and brothers Cohen are producing the project.
