Critics Choice: Inglorious Bastards & Nine Lead With 10 Nominations

The Association of Film Critics of New York has made its choice: the movie scholars of the Big Apple have recognized “Hurt Locker”, as the best picture, and the prize of the Best Director has got Kathryn Bigelow.

As the best actor was named George Clooney (“Up in the Air”, “Fantastic Mr. Fox”), as the best actress – Meryl Streep ( “Julie & Julia”). The best performers of the second plan were recognized Christoph Waltz (“Inglourious Basterds”) and Mo’Nique (“Precious”), who previously were marked by almost all American critical communities. Political farce “In the Loop” got the prize for the script, among the operators excelled Christian Berger (“Das Weisse Band”). As the best animated film was named “Fantastic Mr. Fox”. British director Steve McQueen was noted for his debut work (“Hunger”).

Meanwhile, the largest community of American and Canadian critics – BFCA (Broadcast Film Critic Association – Association of Critics of Film and Television) has determined the nominees for the awards. Most of all of the nominations (10) have grabbed “Inglorious bastards” by Quentin Tarantino and Rob Marshall’s musical “Nine”. The “Avatar” – has got 9 nominations, and the “Hurt Locker” – has got 8.
