Apparently, during the years of work on the «Iron Man» director Jon Favreau and actor Robert Downey Jr. learned how to understand each other perfectly. The studios “DreamWorks” and “Universal” decided how to use this, inviting Favreau to make a screen version of comics from “Platinum Studios” «Cowboys & Aliens», the main role in which allready assigned to R. Downey Jr. for more than a year. John will take up directing chair, as soon as he will finish with the «Iron Man 2».

A screenplay «Cowboys & Aliens» has been marinated for years, passing from one producer hands to another, and undergone several adaptations.
