The producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has took patronage over the teenage fantasy franchise “The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel”, the basis of which is the same named six-volume series of books by Michael Scott. Di Bonaventura will produce the new picture, with Scott and Barry Krost as executive producers. For now the series contains three novels – “The Alchemist”, “The Magician” and “The Sorceress”. The fourth, “The Necromancer”, will appear on the shelves of the bookstores in May.
The main characters of the source are the 15-year-old twins Sophie and Josh, who travel across countries and continents in the company of the legendary alchemist Nicholas Flamel, who has found immortality. The heroes encounter a variety of puzzles and experiencing a dizzying adventure.
Scott’s books were translated to 20 languages and were sold in 37 countries, so that means that the scriptwriters have good material.
