The “Tourist” at last has got a director

Angelina Jolie has really changed Charlize Theron in the leading female role in the thriller “Tourist” with Sam Worthington. “Spyglass” studio is trying to send a film in production as early as February of next year, so they were able to change the director quickly: German Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck will replace Bharat Nalluri.

Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck is a winner of an Oscar for the drama “Das Leben der Anderen”. The director has met with the producers and, according to insiders, “Spyglass” on Friday has made a decision in his favor.

The new movie “Tourist” has attracted Angelina Jolie a few weeks ago. But the participation of an actress has largely depended on the choice of the director. Apparently, Jolie chose “Tourist” from a number of other pictures, including the sequel of the “Wanted”.

If the deal goes through, the “Tourist” will be the first work of von Donnersmarck in Hollywood. The director has already held talks about setting the movie “28 amendment” with Tom Cruise, but for about a half of a year we have heard nothing about it. Interestingly, that Tom Cruise also was originally in the “Tourist”. A screenplay from Julian Fellowes was redacted by Christopher McQuarrie (“Valkyrie”).

Sam Worthington will play an American tourist who falls victim to the heroine of Angelina Jolie – a former mistress of a wanted criminal, who pretending that she has an affair with him, so that is making FBI to watch over the unsuspecting hero.
